Gary Lee Furches

Gary Lee Furches, age 51 of Mountain City, Tennessee, passed away on Saturday, April 19, 2014 at the Sycamore Shoals Hospital. He was born March 1, 1963 in Banner Elk, North Carolina. Gary was preceded in death by his grandparents Albert (Abe) Furches and Anna May Furches, uncles Kenneth Furches and Jerry Furches. In his younger years, Gary enjoyed fishing and most recently he liked to watch TV and movies. He is survived by his parents Sanford and Janice Humphrey of Mountain City, TN; three aunts: Betty Potter, of Jennersville, PA., Lucille Jennings, and Willa Gray Jennings, both of Mountain City, TN; five uncles: Albert Junior Furches, of Hope Mill, NC, Dayton Furches, of Conover, NC, Dan Furches, Tim Furches and Jim Furches all of Mountain City, TN and several cousins. Funeral services for Gary will be conducted at 3:00 p.m. Tuesday, April 22, 2014, from the Mountain City Funeral Home chapel with Pastor Kenny Ray Vaught and Brother Raymond Tester to officiate. Music will be provided by the Rainbow Baptist Church Choir. The family will receive friends from 1:30 - 3:00 p.m., Tuesday prior to the service. Graveside service and burial will follow from the Rainbow Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Rayburn Jennings, Brandon Furches, Danny Furches, Timmy Furches, Van Furches, JR Furches and Moses Jennings. Honorary pallbearers will be Shane Furches, Randy Jennings, David Fletcher and Solomon Garland. Friends and family may call at the home of Gary's mother at 108 J. Cress Rd., Mountain City, TN 37683.
