Anthony Barry

Anthony Tony' Ray Barry, age 63, of Shady Valley, Tennessee, passed away on Monday, June 16, 2014 at his residence. He was born on February 28, 1951 to the late Alvin and Sue Blevins Barry. In addition to his parents, Tony was preceded in death by his son, Matthew Joseph Barry. Tony was a former radio DJ at WMCT, where he hosted the Get Up and Go Show with Tony Ray' for many years. He enjoyed working outside, especially in his garden, going to the lake, fishing with his son, Ashton and loved listening to music. Tony also liked to write poetry. He loved spending quality time with Charlotte, Ashton and his family and friends. Tony is survived by his loving wife, Charlotte Barry; sons: Ashton Cline Barry and Anthony Ray Barry Jr.; daughter, Karry Ann Crosley; sister, Linda Sue Miller; grandchildren: Joseph Barry, Lindey Barry, Michael Barry and Jennifer Barry; special friends: Dennis and Patricia Honaker and many more dear friends. A Memorial Service for Tony will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, June 21, 2014 at the Mountain City Funeral Home with Pastor Buddy Morefield to officiate. The family will receive friends from 1-2:00 p.m. prior to the service. Honorary pallbearers are Kenny Sluder, Tracy Shepherd, Cleve Blevins, Jamie Blevins, Teddy Wallace, Aaron Sluder, Dennis Honaker, Bill Wallace and Adam Sluder. The family wishes to extend their appreciation and gratitude to Dennis and Patricia Honaker for all that they have done for Tony and his entire family and to Kathy Sluder Church. To Teddy Wallace, the family would like to personally thank you for all of your care and love that you have shown over the past several months.
