Harry Walsh

Harry E. Walsh, of Kingsport, passed away Saturday, September 2, 2017. He was born on June 24, 1939 to the late Roby and Cora Hinkle Walsh. Harry was a graduate of Johnson County High School in Mountain City, Tennessee. He proudly served his country in the United States Army from 1962 until 1964. Harry was employed by the Kingsport Press/Quebcor until his retirement, after 35 years of service. He attended Belvue Christian Church. He was also preceded in death by his sisters, Pearl Wilson and Frances Jones; brothers, Arvil Walsh (Golda), Alfred Walsh (Maxine); father-in-law and mother-in-law, Bill and Helen Moore. Those left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 52 years, Mary Ann Walsh; daughter, Becky (Rick) Stewart; son, Joe (Julie) Walsh; granddaughters, Olivia and Anna Walsh; sister, Peggy Walsh, brother-in –law and sister-in-law, Rick and Elaine Moore; several nieces and nephews also survive. The family will receive friends from 10:00 am until 12:00 pm on Thursday, September 7, 2017 in the J. Wayne Hamilton Memorial Chapel of Oak Hill Funeral and Cremation Services. A Celebration of Life Service will follow at 12:00 pm in the chapel with Dr. John Owston officiating.  Military Graveside Rites will be conducted at 2:30 pm on Thursday, September 7, 2017 at the V.A. National Cemetery, Mountain Home, TN by The American Legion Hammond Post #3 and Gate City Post #265. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Belvue Christian Church, 2700 E. Center St., Kingsport, TN 37664, or Gideons International at www2.gideons.org.  The family extends their sincere gratitude to the staffs of Amedisys Hospice and The Waters of Johnson City. The care of Harry E. Walsh and his family has been entrusted to the staff of Oak Hill Funeral & Cremation Services. As requested, this obituary is a courtesy of Mountain City Funeral Home.
