Betty Jean Woodard

Betty Jean Woodard, age 79, of Creston, North Carolina, passed away on Monday, September 11, 2017 at the Ashe Memorial Hospital.  She was born on March 22, 1939 to the late Ray and Emma Diane Mahala Osborne.  In addition to her parents, Betty was preceded in death by her husband, Herbert Woodard and son, Michael Timothy Woodard. Betty enjoyed working in her garden and canning vegetables.  She also enjoyed raising flowers and crocheting.  She was a collector of many things but especially enjoyed collecting porcelain dolls.  She was of the Baptist faith and was always reading her Bible. Those left to cherish her memories include her daughters:  Linda Greer and Mary Trivette; sons:  John Woodard, Joe Woodard, David Woodard and Leonard Woodard; grandchildren:  Jamie Greer, Lily Greer, Ricky Greer and Joey Trivette; great grandchildren:  Jameson Greer and Gracie Trivette and several nieces and nephews. Graveside service and interment will be held at 11;00 a.m. Thursday, September 14, 2017 at the Mahala Cemetery with Frankie Rash officiating. The family of Betty Jean Woodard has entrusted her services to Mountain City Funeral Home.
