Mary Laura Lunceford

  Mary Laura Lunceford, age 103, of Butler, Tennessee, passed away on Friday, September 22, 2017 at her home. She was born on September 7, 1914 in Johnson County, TN to the late Samuel Campbell and Alice Blackburn Campbell Holden. In addition to her parents, Laura was preceded in death by her daughters, Shirley Lunceford and Tilda Marie Lunceford; her sons, Tommy Lunceford, Garry Lunceford and Bobby Lunceford; sisters, Hester Guy, Rose Fritts, Pearl Lunceford Henson, and Infant Sarah Campbell; brother, Lester Campbell; daughter-in-law, Charlotte Lunceford and son-in-law’s, Lonnie ward and Roy Danner; half-brother, Jimmy Campbell.   Laura enjoyed gardening, quilting, and reading. She also loved being a grandmother and was deeply loved by her family and will be missed by all who knew her.   She was a faithful servant of the Lord. Laura was a member of Cobbs Creek Baptist Church.   Those left to cherish her memories include her daughters: Sue Ward and Mae Fritts and husband Ernest, both of Mountain City; Son, William Lunceford of Butler; grandchildren; , Vickie Reece, Marie Dowell, Freddie Lunceford, Allen Lunceford, Debbie Bowman and Brenda Lunceford, Terry Lunceford, Roy Lunceford, Ray Lunceford, David Ward; half-brother, Benny Campbell; several great grandchildren and great- great grandchildren ; and several nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews and great- great nieces and nephews.   The family will receive friends Tuesday September 26, 2017 from 1:00 until 3:00 p.m. at Mountain City Funeral Home with funeral service to follow at 3:00 p.m. with Pastor Mack Arnold.  ­­ Pallbearers will be family and friends. Graveside service and interment will follow on Tuesday from Sunset Memorial Park.   In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the family in care of Mountain City Funeral Home.
