Marie L Hamilton

Marie L Hamilton, 91, was born in New Brunswick, NJ in 1926.  She was a 54-year resident of Miami, Florida and worked for the Archdiocese of Miami for 45 years.  She retired to Mountain City, TN in 2013.  She loved to hunt, fish, and skeet and bow shoot with her father.  She made rosaries, was an award-winning seamstress, her Christmas cookies were known coast-to-coast, and she loved looking through the telescope at the moon with Ryan.  She is survived by daughter Peggy of the home in Mountain City, son Patrick of New York City, granddaughters Ingrid and Anna, new great grandson Julian, beloved nephew Charlie, niece Betty Ann, cousin Pat and husband Stan Piesieski.  Her cherished friends include Kat and Ed Schuman, Bernie “Ange” Buck, Steve and Susan Pumphrey and family, Louis Eng, Noel Zamora, Father Jim McCreanor, Father Gerald McGrath, Brother Felix, Maxine, Blanky Sardon, Millie Copeland, Perla Consuegra, Alicia Rivero, Elena Diaz, Maureen Sulkowski, the Dominguez sisters, and the Golick, Sanchez, Oliva, Alvarez, Correale, Hodge, Pedraz, Frazier, Frick, De La Cova, Jordan, Terraferma, Villoria, Cabrera-Scram, Bucci, and Codd families.  She was preceded in death by husband Robert Bruce, mother and father Eleanor and James, brother and sister Jim and Eleanor, Aunts Peg, Marie, and Estelle, Uncle Howard, nephew Kenny, cousin Jack; lifelong friends: Del and Richie Buck, the Rossmeyers, Peggy Pedraz, Father Thomas Dennehy, Barbara Behnke, Kay Kavanaugh, Marion Hausler, Marie Samuelson, Bea Correale, Irma Seymour, Grace Duffy, Julia Marley, Jack Kelly and Ed Walls.  Special thanks to her Amedysis home health and hospice caregivers, Johnna Fields, Kat and Ed Schuman, and Bill Trivette.   A celebration of her life will take place at a later date.   Donations can be made in her honor to Camillus House, Miami Florida.
