Mayme Katherine Dyson

Mayme Katherine Dyson, age 93, of Mountain City, Tennessee, passed away peacefully at her home on Friday, April 27, 2018.  She was born on February 15, 1925 to the late Andy Dyson Sr. and Cora Lee Forrester Dyson.  In addition to her parents, Katherine was preceded in death by sisters, Kitty Phillips, Ruth Rhymer, Shirley Blevins, Mary Woods, Ruby Woods and Pauline Guy and brothers, Norman Dyson, Karl Dyson, Charles Dyson and Andy Dyson Jr. She was a member of First Baptist Church.  Katherine was a simple woman and lived a simple life.  She was a gifted quilter and had made many beautiful quilts through the years.  She loved to help and bring joy to others. Those left to cherish her memories include a nephew and special caregiver, Bobby Dyson; sister-in-law, Lucy Dyson; brother-in-law, Billy Joe Blevins; special neighbors include, Ruth Tilley, Patience Baird and Zeb Baird; many more nieces and nephews. Graveside service and interment will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, April 29, 2018 at the Donnelly Cemetery (N. Church Street, Mountain City, TN) with Pastor Ricky Campbell officiating. Special music will be provided by Marissa, Hospice Chaplain.  Pallbearers will be Bud McComas, Dickie Lindsey, Mike Phillippi, Tommy Rhymer, Weston Throop, Eric Cullop. In lieu of flowers and food the family requests that you go visit a loved one or shut-in and let them know that they are loved and that you care about them. The family wishes to express their appreciation and gratitude to Caris Hospice and their staff and to Sharon Throop, Linda Farmer, Michelle Callahan for their loving care, compassion and kindness given to Katherine.
