Annetta Belle Brown

Annetta Belle Brown, age 80, of Mountain City, Tennessee, passed away on Monday, June 11, 2018 at the Mountain City Care Center.  She was born on March 27, 1938 to the late Burl Lawrence and Edna Greer May.  In addition to her parents, Annetta was preceded in death by her step father, Everetta May, sister, Renee Beach and brother-in-law, Steve Cole. Annetta retired from Virginia Electric Power following 30+ years of service where she was a bookkeeper.  Annetta’s life reflected the love of Jesus in everything that she said and did.  She always looked for the good in everyone.  She had a very humble spirit and never, never complained about anything or anyone and was always grateful. She was a member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church in Silverstone, NC and attended Roan Creek Baptist Church. Those left to cherish her memories include her husband of over 61 years, Mack Brown, daughter, Debbie Scott and husband Robert of Fredericksburg, VA, grandsons, Brock Scott of Pineville, LA, and Brandon Scott of Alexandria, VA, step-mother, Anna Lee Lawrence of Boone, NC, sisters and brothers-in-law, Loretta Combs and husband Ernest of Zionville, NC and Donna Cole of Raleigh, NC, brothers and sisters-in-law, JB Lawrence and wife Lynn of Blowing Rock, NC, Dwayne Lawrence and wife Yvonne of Boone, NC, brother-in-law, L.E. Beach of Vilas, NC, special nieces and nephews, Joan, Rebecca, Patricia, Kenneth, Bobby, Bill, Sherry, Cerisa, Terry, Sharon, Lynn, Teresa, Marietta, Burnetta,   special cousins, JoAnn Main, Sarah Greene, Betty Vines, Anna Bell Wilson and Aza Lee Simandle, special friends, Brenda Townsend, Marsha Thomas, Mary Lipford, Peggy Roark and entire Tommy and Holly Eller family, many more special nieces, nephews, cousins and friends, and her grand fur-children, Winchester, Deliah and Clyde. A memorial service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Amedysis Foundation, 1500 W. Elk Avenue, Suite 202, Elizabethton, TN 37643. The family wishes to express their appreciation and gratitude to the staff of Amedysis Hospice and the Mountain City Care Center for all of their compassion and care given to Annetta.
