Orville Johnson

Orville C. Johnson, age 68, of Mountain City, Tennessee, passed away on Sunday, June 17, 2018.  He was born on October 12, 1949 to the late Zollie and Mary Edna Brewer Johnson.  In addition to his parents, Orville was preceded in death by a sisters, Donna Lynn Johnson and Grace Harper, brothers, Harold, Bobby, Harry, Dean and Paul Johnson and niece, Teresa Brewer. Orville loved nature and being outdoors.  He especially loved to fish and hunt.  Orville enjoyed watching birds, especially his hummingbirds.  He loved strawberries.  Orville was a former employee of the Johnson County Highway Department. Those left to cherish his memories include his loving wife of 43 years, Karen Jean Sluder Johnson, daughter, Tracey Renea Miller and husband Shannon, sisters, Mary Harper, Janett Johnson, Judy Roark, Darline Vanover, brothers, J.R. Johnson and Monroe Johnson, grandchildren, Austin Johnson and Adam Miller, special niece, Angie Fritts and several nieces and nephews. A visitation will be held from 6-8:00 p.m. Tuesday, June 19, 2018 at the Mountain City Funeral Home with the funeral service to follow at 8:00 p.m. with Pastors Ed Vanover and Shannon Courtner.  Graveside service and interment will be held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, June 20, 2018 at the Whispering Pine Cemetery (Wilcox Road, Mountain City, TN).  Pallbearers will be Shannon Miller, Austin Johnson, Ryan Hurley, Corey Johnson, Edward Vanover and Jonathan Hurley.  Honorary pallbearers are J.R. Johnson, Monroe Johnson and Adam Miller. At other times the family will receive friends at the home of his brother Junior, 508 Wilcox Road, Mountain City, TN. Church Street, Mountain City, TN 37683.
