Alexis 'Lexie' Buchanan

Alexis Lexie' Buchanan, age 6, of Mountain City, Tennessee, passed away on Sunday, September 22, 2013. She was born on October 26, 2006 to Kevin Mark Buchanan and the late Heather Ann Buchanan. In addition to her mother, Lexie was preceded in death by her grandmother, Marilou Betty Buchanan and great grandparents, Dana and Jestie Buchanan, Dexter Lewis. Lexie was a 1st grade student at Roan Creek Elementary School. She loved her teachers and classmates very much and they loved her. Like most girls, Lexi loved to play with Barbie dolls, play dress-up and she loved Hello Kitty'. She was a very smart, outgoing girl and was loved by all that knew her. Lexie will deeply be missed by her family, friends, teachers and classmates. She attended Big Laurel Baptist Church. In addition to her father, Kevin Mark' Buchanan, Lexie is survived by her half-brother, Hunter Buchanan; special aunts, Jackie Buchanan and Tammy Lewis; grandparents: Vicky Lewis and Steve Finley; great grandmother, Doris Ann Lewis; great great grandmother, Dana Lewis; special cousins: Abi Lewis, Daniel Neatherly, John Fritts, Nicole Fritts and Natalie Marquee Oliver; special friend, Ronnie Blevins; special school friends: Emilie Vanover, Sheyenne Simpler, Andrew Long, Haley Isaacs and Troy Hamm; all of her family, teachers and classmates at Roan Creek Elementary School; several more cousins and many, many more special friends. Funeral services for Lexi will be conducted at 6:00 p.m. Sunday, September 29, 2013 at the Mountain City Funeral Home with Pastor Bill Morefield, Anthony Roark and Mike Trivett to officiate. The family will receive friends from 3-6:00 p.m. prior to the service. Graveside Service and Interment will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Monday, September 30, 2013 at the Buchanan Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Ronnie Blevins, Hunter Buchanan, Daniel Neatherly, John Fritts, Christopher Severt, Cory Pennington and Barry Spicer. Honorary Pallbearers are Tim Smith and Ray Oliver. At other times, the family will receive friends at the home of Jackie Buchanan, 443 Adams Drive, Mountain City, TN or Mary Lewis, 2375-A Forge Creek Road, Mountain City, TN.
